Welcome to World Buddha Foundation

World Buddha Foundation was formed and founded by Dr. Hari Narayan Chaturvedi who adopted Buddhism as his religion and faith on 14th October 1956 at Diksha Bhoomi Nagpur (then in Madhya Pradesh and after that it was merged in Maharashtra) alongwith Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar and blessed in Bouddha Dharma by Hon'rable Mahasthavir Chandramani (A Burmese Monk) Bhikshu, and blessed by a new Buddhist name as Dr. Harish Sankrityayan.

The World Buddha Foundation was thus founded at Burmese Monasteries under the Chairmanship of Ven. Bhikshu Dr. Dhammawansa on 22nd May 1976 at Bodhgaya, Bihar. With blessings from monks across the countries including Burma, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Tibet, Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Taiwan, Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Nepal, to promote meditation, general teachings Buddhist teachings, and international collaboration for peace and prosperity.
