The World Buddha Foundation was formed and founded at the premises of Burmese Monasteries under the Chairmanship of Ven. Bhikshu Dr. Dhammawansa on 22nd May 1976 at Bodhgaya, Bihar. The presence and with the blessing of the venerable Monks of the Buddhist Monasteries of Burma, Srilanka, Thailand, Japan, Tibet, Bhutan, Bangledesh, China, Taiwan, Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, Nagpur, Darjeeling, Sikkim, Nepal, Tai Bodhikham, International Meditation Centre, Chakma Buddhist Monastry (Chittagaon) and Buddha Gaya Maha Bihar Main Temple of Lord Buddha.
